I am committed to raising awareness of mitochondrial disease in the general population and helping to raise funds for The Lily Foundation to support the vital work they do. Amongst other things, I’ve walked the IOW challenge, hosted an Easter Fun Day in the community and worked with Romsey Abbey to light up green in Mitochondrial Disease Awareness week. Family and Friends have also been amazing at running in Ellie’s memory. Details of all our awareness raising and fundraising activities are on our Facebook page
We also paint rocks in Ellie’s memory to spread her name and raise awareness.
Research and Intervention
We need a cure for mitochondrial disease!! Before that we also need effective management strategies to improve the quality of life for those affected.
